I’m Larry Mitchell, and for the past 18 years, I’ve partnered with my wife Kathy to navigate the dynamic world of home financing. Our journey began with manufactured home loans in 2003, and by 2006, we seamlessly transitioned into residential lending. Throughout the years, we’ve proudly served our community, establishing ourselves as a leading power couple in the Triangle and surrounding areas. Together, we’ve been instrumental in turning the dreams of homeownership into reality for countless families, always adding a personal touch to the process.
Originally hailing from Alabama—where “Roll Tide” runs in my veins—I made the move to North Carolina in 1994. When I’m not immersed in the mortgage world, I find joy in activities like riding my motorcycle, playing golf, hunting, fishing, and cherishing quality family time.
In 2021, Kathy made the decision to retire, entrusting the legacy of “The Mitchell Team” to our capable “work daughter.” I’m delighted to introduce Kristen McConnell, who gracefully stepped into Kathy’s shoes. Originating from Wisconsin with a banking background, Kristen entered the North Carolina scene in 2017, simultaneously embarking on her home loan industry journey. Starting on the operations side, she swiftly transitioned into processing, mastering every aspect of the home loan process. With a deep understanding of industry guidelines, Kristen assures you that you are in good hands.

Our Loan Programs

All LoansConventional
A Conventional Purchase is a “traditional” mortgage with as little as 3% down payment, requiring no upfront mortgage insurance fees and cancellable monthly private mortgage insurance. Both Fixed Rate & Adjustable Rate Mortgage options are available.
FHA
If you’re a first-time homebuyer and your credit score isn’t great, an FHA loan may be a great option for you. FHA loans allow for as little as 3.5% down and have options available for buyers with credit scores as low as 600.
Construction-Permanent Loan
With as little as 10% down, we can help you build a new home or renovate/improve an existing one. Our Construction-Permanent program streamlines your experience with only one closing for both the construction and permanent phases of your loan.
