There are many options when it comes to choosing a mortgage company. While most offer similar loan programs and interest rates, working with professionals who care about top-notch customer service and personalized experiences for each individual borrower can make all the difference. This is where Silverton Mortgage excels. We’ve always believed in the power of teamwork and that is evident in our goal of maintaining the entire loan process in-house. This keeps everyone involved: borrower, real estate agent, and Silverton Mortgage. Our culture fosters an environment of success that is undeniable and it’s something that we’re extremely proud of because happy employees translate to happy customers.
At Silverton Mortgage, we recognize that great communication is invaluable. In fact, we proudly tout that we’re a “communications company that happens to be good at mortgages.” Our team of mortgage professionals work hard every day to make their customers a priority and are continuously using their knowledge and passion to achieve customer satisfaction. It is this mentality that has allowed us to maintain a reputation where 9 out of 10 customers would recommend us to their friends and family.*
We firmly believe that having a robust company culture is one of the many reasons for our continued success. Before the pandemic, Silverton Mortgage would host regular team gatherings at the corporate office, where President Josh Moffitt would address the company with important news and information. Since the pandemic, these gatherings have been held virtually and more frequently — every Friday –as an effort to keep everyone connected during a difficult time. We look forward to getting back to a more normal work environment throughout the year where our team can interact more in person.
It is also important to celebrate individual achievements, which is why we have implemented a system for team members to recognize excellence via “bricks.” Silverton Mortgage bricks represent 24 behaviors that team members aspire to, including excelling in communication, putting a client’s best interest first, or going above and beyond your job role. Team members can send virtual bricks to each other for recognition. Each week, Josh makes a point of sharing some of the bricks that have been given. We believe that while each brick is special, they are stronger together. Our bricks provide the foundation for our company’s success.
We are proud to say that our efforts have not gone unnoticed as we have been recognized as a 2021 Top Workplace by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution® for the fourth year in a row. Our recognition as one of metro Atlanta’s Top Workplaces is even more of an honor because it was determined by employee feedback. We also participated in the national contest and are pleased to have ranked in the Top 50 in the country with more than two million employees across 7,000 companies participating. “Being named a Top Workplace is a big deal because this award is based solely on the feedback of our employees. Our team is made up of some of the best professionals in the mortgage industry, which makes their feedback extremely validating of our efforts to offer the support, culture, benefits, and rewards programs they deserve,” exclaimed Moffitt.
Placing on a national level is especially noteworthy as Silverton Mortgage continues to expand its services throughout the United States. Going from a one-man operation to a nationally recognized company licensed in 46 states, all while maintaining high standards for both employees and customers is a true testament to everyone on the team who gives their best each and every day. Silverton Mortgage joined Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, Inc., becoming a part of the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies in 2018. Since then, they’ve made significant employee benefit upgrades with the implementation of a world-class benefits package for eligible employees, including vacation, healthcare services, flexible hours, maternity leave, and employee engagement events.
In addition to our efforts to maintain a fun and fulfilling work environment for our employees, we are also committed to giving back to our communities. That’s why The Silverton Foundation was founded in 2012. The Silverton Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides mortgage and rent assistance to families with critically and chronically ill children. When a child is in the hospital, the last thing that parents need to worry about is how they’re going to make the next rent or mortgage payment. The Silverton Foundation exists to help ease that burden. The Foundation partners with hospitals in Atlanta and Nashville and works with social workers to identify families in need. Silverton Mortgage donates on a quarterly basis to the Foundation on behalf of its new homeowners and our employees are also given the option to donate a portion of their paychecks to the Foundation. Josh is genuinely enthusiastic about each family that the Foundation helps and makes a point of sharing their stories during company meetings.
The secret to our continued success is no secret — we value our employees and want to see them excel because we know that will translate to the best possible experience for our customers. At the end of the day, we have the same goal which is to get you home as stress-free as possible with a mortgage that works for your unique circumstances.
